Group Financial Controller
⚓ About Click&Boat
Click&Boat is Europe's leading boat rental marketplace, connecting millions of users with boat owners across 600+ destinations worldwide. With over €170M in annual GMV and a community of 2.4M+ registered users, we're transforming the way people experience the sea. Click&Boat is part of Boats Group, backed by Permira since 2021, and today counts around 150-160 employees.
We believe in building a company where autonomy, speed, and impact define everyday work – and we're looking for people who share that mindset.
🧭 The role
As Click&Boat continues to grow and our financial and legal environment becomes increasingly complex, we are looking for a Group Financial Controller. Reporting directly to the Finance Director, you will be responsible for the reliability of our accounting and closing processes, corporate treasury, audits, as well as the Group's day-to-day corporate and legal matters. The scope currently covers several entities, mainly in France and Spain, with a new international subsidiary expected to open shortly. You will directly manage one accountant and coordinate several external partners, including accounting firms, auditors, tax advisors, lawyers and banks. This role requires a high level of autonomy, particularly on Corporate matters: the objective is for you to take ownership of topics end-to-end, identify the required actions, coordinate the relevant advisors and partners, and involve the Finance Director on key or strategic decisions.
⛵ What you'll do
Accounting & closing: oversee the accounting of Click&Boat and its subsidiaries (France, Spain, and soon an additional international entity), manage the internal accounting team and coordinate local accounting firms, run monthly and annual closing processes, ensure deadlines are met and trial balances are accurate, review and challenge key accounting entries (provisions, cut-offs, accruals, reconciliations, intercompany transactions, fixed assets), oversee balance sheet reconciliations, and coordinate the work required for Group consolidation.
Audit: act as the main point of contact for statutory and external auditors, lead financial and statutory audits, coordinate PBC requests and supporting documentation, respond to auditor queries, challenge proposed adjustments, and follow up on outstanding items through to sign-off, implementing relevant recommendations.
Corporate & legal: independently manage corporate housekeeping matters — preparing and coordinating general meetings and shareholder resolutions, managing the annual approval of financial statements, updating articles of association, managing changes in directors or legal representatives, delegations of authority and banking powers, and maintaining statutory registers. Support the Finance Director on the operational implementation of new international entities (incorporation, tax registrations, bank accounts, KYC, accounting setup, intercompany documentation).
Treasury & banking: manage day-to-day banking relationships, open and close bank accounts, manage authorised signatories and mandates, oversee banking KYC processes, monitor and optimise cash positions across entities, manage short-term cash investments, and contribute to cash forecasting.
Payments: oversee the accounts payable cycle, manage exceptional payments, review approval workflows, manage banking access rights and payment permissions, and ensure proper segregation of duties.
Tax & compliance: coordinate local accounting firms and tax advisors, ensure compliance with tax filing calendars, oversee the preparation and filing of tax returns, monitor VAT and corporate income tax matters, and coordinate any tax audits.
Internal control & processes: document key financial and accounting processes, design appropriate controls based on key financial risks, ensure segregation of duties (particularly for payments and treasury), and continuously improve the reliability of financial data and documentation as the Group scales internationally.
🧭 What you bring aboard
7 to 10 years of experience across finance, accounting and audit, ideally combining 3 to 5 years in audit (Big Four or a recognised firm) followed by several years in an in-house role such as Accounting Manager, Finance Manager, Financial Controller or equivalent.
Hands-on experience with operational topics such as financial closings, auditor relationships, treasury, banking and payments, beyond strong technical accounting skills.
Experience in an international, multi-entity environment is a strong advantage.
Comfortable managing financial closings and topics such as cut-offs, provisions, reconciliations and intercompany transactions.
Capable of independently managing an audit process end-to-end.
Comfortable dealing with banks, payments and treasury management, and able to take ownership of day-to-day Corporate and legal matters.
Able to effectively coordinate a wide range of external stakeholders, including accountants, auditors, lawyers, tax advisors and banks.
Structured, rigorous, pragmatic and solution-oriented, able to manage multiple topics simultaneously with a high degree of autonomy.
Comfortable working in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment, in both French and English.
🌊 Why Click&Boat
Massive scope and autonomy: you will become the Finance Director's key point of contact for the day-to-day financial, accounting and Corporate operations of the Group, owning topics end to end.
High impact: you will play a key role in operating, structuring and securing the financial and corporate infrastructure of a growing international group.
360° exposure: from accounting and audit to treasury, banking, tax, legal and internal control, across a multi-entity, international scope.
A fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment where speed and initiative are valued over process and hierarchy.
A growing, international team passionate about making the sea accessible to everyone.

About Click&Boat
Click&Boat is the leading European boat rental platform and a fast-growing company. Our main objective is to make boating accessible around the world and to provide private and professional boat owners with additional income from boat rentals.
We have achieved over 100 percent growth annually since our conception in 2013. Not to mention, we have also acquired three companies in three different European countries (France, Germany, and Spain) in only two years. After acquiring Oceans Evasions, Scansail, and Nautal, Click&Boat now has three powerful brands to work with.
This year, we are more equipped than ever to achieve our goal of becoming the number one boat rental service by strengthening our position in Europe. In 2022, our growth has been powered by an incoming major equity fund and the world’s largest boating marketplace - Boats Group. So far, we are opened for business in more than 100 countries and 4000 destinations, and we are going to keep growing!
Have we kept your attention? Well, we are also a buoyant and diverse team of about 200 employees from 20 different countries. Our headquarter is based in Paris on a barge moored on the Seine River!
Our Barcelona office is located in the historic heart of Ciutat Vella, just steps from the Barcelona Cathedral, in a modern coworking space, only a 20-minute walk from the marina.
Sounds good? We’d love for you to jump aboard!
