Internal Support Technician
⚓ About Boats Group
Boats Group is the fastest-growing digital business in the recreational boating space. We are a talented team of technologists, creatives, marketers, sales experts, and customer advocates who spend each day pushing the boundaries of technology to make buying, selling, and renting boats easy. Every day, we work with a global inventory of more than 500,000 boats.
Our Barcelona office is home to Boats Group's European team, creating a dynamic and international workplace where technology, marketplaces, and collaboration come together.
As part of our continued growth, we are strengthening our Sales team and looking for a Regional Sales Executive to join us in Barcelona, taking over the Rest of World (ROW) territory.
To support our growing international team, we are hiring an Internal Support Technician to join our Barcelona office and help keep our people, systems, and workplace technology running smoothly.
🚤 The role
We’re looking for a dependable Internal Support Technician to join our crew in Barcelona.
This is a junior role, but our Barcelona office operates in a genuinely complex technical environment. You’ll work closely with and learn from our Systems Engineer, while also having the opportunity to handle day-to-day issues independently and develop your technical skills along the way.
You’ll be the friendly first point of contact for colleagues experiencing IT issues, combining strong people skills, patience, warmth, and clear communication, with curiosity, resourcefulness, and a genuine drive to figure things out.
If you enjoy helping people, solving problems, and learning how things work, you might be exactly who we’re looking for.
🛟 What floats your boat
You will be responsible for the following tasks:
Acting as the first point of contact for everyday IT issues in our Barcelona office, handling straightforward requests and escalating more complex problems when needed.
Triaging and resolving first-line help-desk tickets, including password resets, connectivity, printer, hardware, and basic software issues, primarily in English.
Preparing, setting up, and configuring laptops, monitors, and peripherals for new hires, while helping keep our local equipment fleet organized and tracked.
Supporting onboarding and offboarding logistics, including occasional high-volume days with multiple arrivals or departures.
Providing calm, patient, in-person and remote support to colleagues who may not be technical, explaining issues and solutions clearly and without jargon.
Assisting with basic account and access tasks, such as adding users to groups and making simple permission changes under the guidance of the Systems Engineer.
Helping keep the office running smoothly by supporting printers, meeting-room AV, Wi-Fi basics, and general workplace technology.
Logging and documenting recurring issues and their resolutions to help build our internal knowledge base.
Supporting the Systems Engineer on larger IT projects and improvement initiatives, giving you the opportunity to expand your technical skill set.
Working independently to diagnose and resolve issues in our complex, multi-tool environment when the Systems Engineer or wider IT team isn’t immediately available, using good judgment about what to solve yourself and what to escalate.
🧭 What you bring aboard
You have at least 2 years of experience in a help-desk, IT support, or customer-facing technical role.
You are comfortable working independently and using sound judgment when supporting a complex technical environment.
You have basic knowledge of Windows and macOS operating systems.
You have basic familiarity with Google Workspace and/or Microsoft 365.
You’re comfortable troubleshooting everyday technical issues such as connectivity, printers, peripherals, and common software problems.
You are fluent in English and Spanish. French is a plus.
You’re naturally curious, willing to ask questions, and genuinely motivated to keep developing your technical skills.
You’re a team player who inspires trust and brings a warm, approachable, service-oriented attitude to your work.
🌊 Bonus points (great to have, never a dealbreaker)
Experience with tools such as Okta, Meraki, or similar IT platforms.
An interest in basic scripting with Bash, Python, or PowerShell.
Relevant IT support certifications or coursework.
A genuine passion for technology and figuring out how things work.
🧩 What makes you a great fit
This role depends as much on how you work with people as on your technical know-how. We’re especially looking for someone who:
Is independent and self-reliant, comfortable making sound decisions without step-by-step supervision.
Has a strong problem-solving mindset and enjoys digging into unfamiliar issues.
Communicates clearly and patiently with both technical and non-technical colleagues.
Has empathy and active listening skills, especially when supporting colleagues who are frustrated or under time pressure.
Is reliable and follows requests through to resolution, keeping people updated along the way.
Is adaptable and open to feedback, while knowing when to ask for help.
Is well organized and able to manage multiple requests at the same time.
Remains calm and professional during busy periods, particularly onboarding and offboarding surges.
Handles sensitive account and access information with discretion.
